Dragon Magick: A Force Beyond Morality

I wrote this as a Facebook comment to clarify why dragon magick is not “evil” and to offer a deeper understanding of what it truly is:

Dragons are ethereal entities of immense, primal energy—chaotic not because they are malicious, but because their power is overwhelming to human perception. Their very essence is a force of equilibrium, working to balance polarities across the multiverse. Some dragons align with cosmic order, while others are deeply connected to elemental forces and creation itself.

People have often compared their energy to that of the cosmic sun—the very source of life as we know it. If we expose ourselves too much to the sun, it can burn us, even though it is the reason we exist. Does this make the sun evil? No. It simply means that excess of any force, even one as vital as sunlight, can be destructive to beings who require balance to maintain health and sanity. Dragons are much the same. They are pure cosmic fire—both life-giving and capable of immense destruction. Like the sun, their power is not inherently good or evil; it simply is.

Because of their intensity, dragons do not reveal themselves to just anyone. They seek out those who can withstand the transformative nature of their presence—individuals who are ready for profound spiritual evolution. They embody the forces of creation and destruction, existing in a constant state of transmutation. To them, what we call “magick” is simply their way of being.

This is why magick, especially dragon magick, cannot be reduced to a simplistic black-and-white framework. It is not about good versus evil, but about balance, adaptation, and the willingness to expand our understanding of the world beyond rigid dichotomies. True wisdom lies in embracing complexity, in recognizing that power—whether from dragons, the elements, or the cosmos itself—must be approached with respect, awareness, and a readiness to grow.
